After the remarkable success of the 2018 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, Paul McGinley takes the reins as host for the 2019 tournament - the first European Rolex Series event of the year.

McGinley, famously meticulous in his preparations for his 2014 Ryder Cup victory at Gleneagles, is applying the same creative and careful planning for the world-class event, which takes place from July 4-7, 2019 in the beautiful County of Clare.

This year’s event promises to be a memorable week where fans can enjoy world-class golf, music and entertainment, making for a special festival atmosphere. The event will be in the majestic surroundings of Lahinch – a lively town nestled at the head of Liscannor Bay, besides a 2km long beach of golden sands.

The BMW PGA Championship has moved from its traditional May date to a new September slot. Held at the prestigious Wentworth Golf Club, the BMW PGA Championship will be the fourth Rolex Series event of the year.

The Championship has been staged annually in several prestigious locations since 1955 , but has remained at the iconic Wentworth club since 1972. Winners of this tournament include many golfing legends including Sir Nick Faldo and Seve Ballesteros whose clubs hang in Wentworth Clubhouse’s hall of fame.

The weekend’s after play concerts will provide an enjoyable ending to your time at the tournament. 2018 saw chart toppers, Rudimental, and Scottish rock band, Simple Minds, take to the stage.

The Betfred British Masters will return to Close House, in Newcastle upon Tyne, in 2020 with former World Number One Lee Westwood becoming the first player to host the European Tour tournament twice.

Following the success of this year’s event at Hillside Golf Club in Southport, where Ryder Cup star Tommy Fleetwood took on the hosting duties, Westwood will reprise the role from July 30 to August 2, 2020, at Close House, the venue he has been attached to as Touring Professional for eight years.
